New tricks to continue reduction in dairy farm antibiotic use
Fewer unexpected deaths of calves, improved health in adult cows and lower vet bills, and greater job satisfaction as a result are the aims of a half-day farmer workshop in Cheshire on Tuesday, March 6.
Entirely free of commercial strings, the organisers are Innovation for Agriculture - the non-profit body dedicated to 'helping farmers make best use of emerging and existing knowledge to improve business performance and personal fulfilment' - and The Royal Cheshire Agricultural Society.
Attendance is open to the society's members and non-members alike at Worleston Village Hall near Nantwich. The workshop includes a free lunch and Dairypro CPD points can be claimed.
The event is part of a national programme made possible by sponsorship from the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation in pursuit of reducing antibiotic use in farm animals.
Places can be booked at www.cheshire-dairy.eventbrite.co.uk or by telephone, 02476 692470.
