College opens evening date

Harper Adams University College, near Newport, is holding an informal open evening on Tuesday October 10 from 7-9pm in the ASPIRE Centre, the college's new learning centre for excellence, to give information on the range of business courses it offers - many of them in farming business-related subjects.

Business courses on offer include BSc (Hons) business management and marketing, BSc (Hons) agri-food marketing with business studies, BSc (Hons) food supply chain management, BSc (Hons) rural business management, BSc (Hons) agri-business, HND/FdSc business management and marketing, HND/FdSc agri-food marketing with business studies, HND/FdSc agri-marketing and business management.

Students, families, careers advisers and teachers are all invited to come and talk to current students and specialist staff about study options, particularly focusing on business related degree and foundation degree courses available.

Business studies is a very popular subject at Harper Adams as it combines good academic training with excellent career prospects. All business programmes include a year in industry which enables students to put the knowledge gained in the classroom into practice and learn from some of the best in business.

Pam Whitehouse, senior tutor in business, management and marketing, said: "It is a great opportunity to come along and chat to current students and staff who can give first hand information about the wide range of business courses and gain practical advice on issues including course content, the application process, scholarships, finance and employment opportunities.

It's equally important to find the right place, where you feel at home and are able to study and work most effectively so we encourage you to find out more about accommodation and facilities as well as the social aspects of the university college."
