Farm machinery sale

A wide and varied range of farm machinery, implements and vehicles is set to go under the hammer at a Shropshire dairy farm dispersal sale on Saturday, August 25.

The Ellesmere office of Shropshire auctioneers Halls has arranged the auction at Coppice Farm, Burlton, near Shrewsbury on Saturday, August 25, following the retirement from farming of Geoff and Pam Griffiths. Halls has also agreed a sale of the farm.

The Griffiths family has operated a traditional dairy unit at Coppice Farm for more than 80 years, amassing a wide range of farm machinery, implements, vehicles, livestock handling and feeding equipment and handtools.

The tractors owned by the family include a John Deere 6220 4WD, Ford 5610 2WD, David Brown 990 Selectomatic, together with a useful JCB 520 Farm Special with attachments and a New Holland 940 baler.

The sale also includes household furniture and effects along with some sandstone garden ornaments.

Additional lots from other vendors in the auction include a Case International 885 4WD tractor, International 585 tractor, Todd beet cleaner and loader, Dowdswell three-furrow reversible plough and various trailers, spreaders and dairy sundries.
