Contractor at conference
A successful agricultural contractor who transformed his Dorset-based operation through co-operation will be addressing a major farming conference in Shropshire tomorrow.

Mike Simpson, who undertook a Nuffield Scholarship in 2001 looking at the future direction of the UK agricultural contracting industry, will be keynote speaker at Berrys Contractors Conference at the Lord Hill Hotel, Shrewsbury.
The event has been organised by Berrys of Shrewsbury in conjunction with English Farming and Food Partnership to help contractors in the area adapt following the closure of Allscott sugar beet factory.
The factory is expected to process its final batch of beet this week, marking the end of an era for the region's sugar beet industry.
Conference details on (01743) 271697.
