Annual sale of sheep

Around 850 sheep were presented at the annual sale run by Morris Marshall & Poole at the Kennel Fields, Llanidloes.

In the Beulah and Speckle ewes section at the sale, the top price for yearlings was £82 which were sold by Davies Bros, Upper Esgair. Older draught ewes sold to a top of £86 for two year-old ewes presented by H. G. Rees, Hiriaeth.

Messrs Rees also sold to £80 on two occasions and £78. D. A. Davies and Son, Deildre Fawr sold three-year-old Crossbred ewes to £72.

A total of 1,920 Welsh and Improved Welsh ewes were presented for sale, achieving a market high of £112 for yearling ewes presented by M. Rowlands of Tynddol. Mr Rowlands also sold yearlings to £99, £98 and £88, along with three-year-old ewes to £92.
