Victims glassed in the face and hit with car jack in brutal attacks

A man has been glassed in the face and another hit over the head with a car jack in two attacks in Newtown.

Dyfed-Powys Police have launched an investigation after a man was glassed in the face inside Castle Vaults pub in Broad Street between midnight and 12.20am on Saturday.

The 26-year-old was taken to hospital with his injures.

A few hours before a 19-year-old man was hit with a car jack at around 10.30pm in Black Lane car park. He suffered lacertations to his head and was taken to hospital for treatment.

A police spokeswoman said: "The offender is described as a white male in his mid 20s, of stocky build, with short black curly hair, and was wearing a black tracksuit with a red top underneath."
