Oswestry stabbing murder suspect remanded

A teenager charged with the murder of a 21-year-old man in Shropshire has been remanded in custody after appearing in court.

Richard Adam Reece,18, of Lord Street, Oswestry, is accused of murdering Danny Jones, of Chirk, who died in hospital after being stabbed in Lord Street last Wednesday.

Mr Jones, a trainee accountant, suffered a single stab wound in the incident next to the Oak Street car park at about 8.10pm.

He was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by ambulance, but doctors were unable to save him and he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Reece was remanded in custody following his appearance at Shrewsbury Magistrates Court yesterday and ordered to appear before Shrewsbury Crown Court on May 7.
