Trolley is tall order
Seymour Manufacturing International of Sutton Maddock, Telford, has developed a safe, lightweight two-step trolley enabling people to safely lift products on to the top shelves in supermarkets.
Lifting heavy objects above the head is the province of weightlifters - not workers stacking supermarket shelves.
That's the view of the Health and Safety Executive. And a Shropshire firm has come up with an idea to to help retailers keep to the regulations and ensure their shelf fillers don't lift goods above shoulder height.
Seymour Manufacturing International of Sutton Maddock, Telford, has developed a safe, lightweight two-step trolley enabling people to safely lift products on to the top shelves in supermarkets.
For shorter people, or higher shelves, there is a bigger version, the three-step trolley.
The unique brake mechanism on the trolleys provides 100 per cent safety the minute someone stands on the first step, the firm claims.
Constructed from aluminium square section with anti-slip step surfaces, the steps tuck neatly away within the trolley frame when not in use.
