Telford men jailed after admitting shoplifting offences
Two men have been locked up after pleading guilty to shoplifting in Telford stores.
Andy Mcnabb, of no fixed abode, was given a four-week custodial sentence at Kidderminster Magistrates Court last Friday (January 24).
The 39-year-old pleaded guilty to taking £100 worth of pet food from Just for Pets in Ketley on December 14 last year.
Three days later, Matthew Howe, also of no fixed abode, was given a 32-week custodial sentence at Kidderminster Magistrates Court.
The 36-year-old pleaded guilty to four thefts from Co-op in Stirchley between November 14 and Christmas Eve 2024, where he took more than £200 worth of goods.
Sergeant Richard Jones of West Mercia Police's Telford Town Centre Team said: “We know the impact that shoplifting has on retailers, and we are continuing to take action to bring offenders to justice.
“This is a great result with both Mcnabb and Howe being arrested, charged and sentenced. I hope the two sentencings act as a deterrent and sends a clear message to deter other offenders.”
