The move, at the Llynclys Crossroads, has been welcomed by the North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan.
National Highways has installed monitoring cameras to better understand traffic flow through Llynclys as the agency examines what changes it can make to improve safety at the site.
Mrs Morgan has been campaigning for action on the A483 since she was elected.
She has called for speed limit changes in the short term and a redesign of the junction in the longer term.
