Driving wife's car without insurance proved very costly for Telford man
Driving his wife's car without insurance has left a Telford man with eight points on his licence and a court bill totalling nearly £1,000.
When Bartosz Gratowski was stopped by police in New Trench Road, in Telford, on November 22, 2024 officers not only discovered that he had no insurance but also spotted a police-style collapsible baton on the passenger seat.
The 36 year old from Lennock Road, Trench, ended up being charged for possessing an offensive weapon in a public place as well as having no insurance.
Telford Magistrates Court was told that Gratowski, who communicated with the court through a Polish interpreter, had used the baton to remove a tyre and wheels.
