Telford removal man who stole £45,000 clock and mirror set from house avoids jail
A removal man who stole a £45,000 Japanese grandfather clock and an oriental mirror set from a house his firm was helping to move has avoided a prison sentence.
Slawomir Dobraszkiewicz, aged 34, of The Nettlefolds, Hadley, in Telford, had pleaded guilty to burglary and theft at a house in Cumbers, near Hamner, on the border between Shropshire and Wales near Whitchurch, on October 13, 2023.
He was handed a suspended prison sentence and told to do unpaid work when he was sentenced at Telford Magistrates Court on Wednesday (October 30).
He had also admitted a charge of possessing cannabis at his home in April.
When he pleaded guilty in September the court was told that the property was rented out to tenants who were moving out at the beginning of October.
On September 9, 2023, the removal company Dobraszkiewicz was working for removed items from the property.
But on September 11 the tenants returned to find Dobraszkiewicz's car on the drive and it "drove away at speed".
