The event is at the Ramada Hotel in Telford centre, starting at 6pm.

John Morris-Roberts of the club said anyone interested in coming along could email him at jre_westerton@yahoo.co.uk.

He said the club was a modern not-for-profit organisation, part of a global Rotary network comprising people who came together to make positive lasting changes in communities at home and abroad.

It had men and women members from all walks of life, some working, and others retired, and met most Tuesdays at the Ramada Hotel from 6.30pm for a couple of hours.

"Our backgrounds range from the law and IT to accountancy and banking, animal welfare and education to diverse industries such as building, transport, farming and fashion, not forgetting local government and the military to name a few.

"Many of us grew up locally others are from further afield - Scotland, Wales, India, and England.

"We’re involved in many projects, from providing books for schools and giving disadvantaged children positive experiences through our work with ‘KidsOut,’ to collecting tents after the V Festival to reuse for disaster relief and planting crocuses in the grounds of Princess Royal Hospital to raise awareness of our campaign to eradicate polio.

"We support numerous local, national and international charities by fundraising and running promotional events. We meet in an informal environment and, best of all, we have a lot of fun in whatever we do.

"Telford Centre is one of the four clubs involved in running the Rotary Telford Tree of Light."
