Woman rescued from the River Severn in Newtown
A woman has been taken to hospital after she was rescued from a river in Mid Wales in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters and police pulled the woman from the fast-flowing River Severn in Newtown town centre at 1.28am.
The woman has been taken to hospital but it is not known how serious her condition is.
A spokeswoman for Mid & West Wales Fire and Rescue said: "We received a call from police at 1.28am that a woman was in some difficulty in the fast flowing river.
"We had many units on the way, but the woman was brought to safety using safety lines by the Newtown crew and the police.
"She was then taken to hospital by ambulance."
