Motorist trapped after car hits tree near Market Drayton

A woman was taken to hospital after her car crashed into a tree on a road on the north Shropshire border.

The crash, involving two cars, happened on the A525 Woore Road near Market Drayton.

A woman in her 50s, believed to be the driver, was trapped in the car. Cheshire fire crews had to take both doors off to free her at about 9am yesterday. A passenger suffered minor injuries.

Meanwhile, a car was destroyed by fire after a road accident in Minsterley

around 6.30pm yesterday. When fire crews arrived they found one car alight and on its roof. There were no occupants at the scene.
