The branch is now set to be open mid-February, despite initial plans to open by Christmas

A spokesman for the coffee firm said: "We are pleased to announce that we still on track to open a brand new store on Cheshire Street, in mid-February, bringing eight-10 new jobs to the local area.

"As with all of our new store openings we will do all that we can to integrate ourselves with the local community, getting involved with events, providing the store as a meeting place and helping with fundraising.

"Our Market Drayton site has been subject to delay due to planning and works needed to be carried out to the unit. We look forward to opening our new store in mid-February."

Plans were approved to change the use of the unit in Cheshire Street, which was originally a Stead and Simpson shoe shop in October.

It will add to other Costas in Telford, Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Ludlow and Oswestry.
