The Priory School will become part of the Salop and Herefordshire Maths Hub, which has been granted £11 million worth of funding from the Department of Education.

The initiative will see schools and colleges across the county collaborate and focus exclusively on maths.

Graham Charles, head of maths at Church Stretton School, is leading the way in a bid to improve how maths is taught.

There will be an exchange of teachers with schools in Shanghai, and Sue Evans from Meole Brace Primary School will travel there later this year.

Other schools involved in the area include Shrewsbury Sixth Form College, Sundorne School, St Giles Primary School, and Woodfield Infant School.
