An inquest was opened into the death of Polish driver Krzyszof Ogieniewski at a coroner's hearing at Shrewsbury's Greenhous Meadow yesterday.

A statement was read out from Gordon Dolan, coroner's officer for Wellington, who said Mr Ogieniewski was discovered inside the vehicle which was parked on the A53 by the Muller factory in Market Drayton.

The 48-year-old driver, a married man from the Polish town of Blichowo, was pronounced dead by a paramedic at the scene on March 17.

He was formally identified from his passport photo at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on March 20, as there were no family in the country.

Shropshire Coroner John Ellery adjourned the inquest to August 21.
