Inquest opens on retired Newtown shop owner
An inquest has been opened and adjourned following the death in hospital of a retired shop owner from Newtown.

John Edward Powell, 89, of Boot Garden Cottage, Kerry, died at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on April 20 this year.
An inquest into his death was opened by Shropshire coroner Mr John Ellery at the Guildhall in Shrewsbury yesterday.
It was adjourned for a full hearing to take place on September 23.
