Flower arrangers will be creating classic film covers or basing their finished pieces on Hollywood's finest during the event in Claverley, near Bridgnorth.

The Claverley Flower Festival, which is now in its 40th year, will take place from July 12 to 15. Spokesman Julie Wilkes said: "This year's theme is cinema greats, so we have all the classic films and famous actors and actress to work with. Each member has also been given a position in the church where their work will be displayed.

"Some of the categories are great. I've chosen the Railway Children but there's also films like Black Beauty, Castleblanca, The Wizard of Oz and Jurassic Park.

It always brings the whole village together each year and this one will be extra special because it's our 40th anniversary."

More than 3,000 visitors attend the festival each year, which takes place in the Norman Church of All Saints.

The site in Claverley has probably been a place of worship since before Christianity came to Britain. There is also a yew tree outside , which is more than 2,500 years old.
