Market Drayton dairy bridge link talks

Plans by Muller Dairy to build a bridge linking its existing factory with a proposed new plant in Market Drayton are set to be discussed at a meeting next week.

Moreton Say Parish Council will talk about the proposals at its next meeting on Tuesday(25) in the village hall at 7.30pm.

The dairy giant wants to build a 1,443ft (440m) conveyor bridge linking its factory off Shrewsbury Road with a new manufacturing, storage and distribution facility in a field off the A53.

The German firm – one of Europe's biggest dairy producers – already has planning permission to create the new facility on the 8.5-hectare site.

The bridge will be more than four metres high, seven metres wide and six metres above the A53, and will be clearly visible by drivers approaching the town.

Other items on the agenda for next week's meeting include a Neighbourhood Watch update and Local Joint Committee report.
