Arnold Higgins, of Market Drayton, was found on the verge beside the A529 between Adderley and Market Drayton at about 8.30am on November 8.

It is thought he was struck by a passing vehicle while walking home from work the previous night.

Police officers investigating the incident today said they had traced a 52-seater coach which may have been involved.

Richard Ewels, spokesman for West Mercia Police, said: "Forensic tests are continuing to establish whether the coach may have been in collision with Mr Higgins.

"The coach company is assisting our inquiries."

Mr Higgins, who worked for farmer Graham Brindley at The Lees, in Adderley, set off to walk home along the A529 at about 4.45pm on November 7. A post mortem revealed he had head injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

An inquest will be opened in due course.

Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses.

Anyone with information which might assist the investigation, is urged to contact Market Drayton police station on 101.

Earlier this week, Mr Higgins' family paid a loving tribute, describing him as a "top lad" who would never be forgotten.
