Piglets are stars of Market Drayton fundraising day
A litter of eight piglets are proving a hit with visitors to Park Hill Farm, in Park Lane, Market Drayton.
The new arrivals, born at the farm on August 26, wowed the visitors who attended a charity fun day held to raise cash for six-year-old Evie Poole.
The youngster, who is unable to walk unaided after being diagnosed with cerebral palsy, is the subject of a fundraising campaign to raise £50,000 for an operation which will allow her to walk independently.
The campaign was launched after bosses at South Staffordshire Primary Care Trust refused to pay for the operation. So far an incredible £43,000 has been raised in just six months. Pat Pimlot, from Park Hill Farm, said the fun day managed to raise in the region of £700.
She said: "We had an absolutely great day. The piglets were actually born on the morning of the fun day which was just fantastic.
"They really turned into the stars of the show and we managed to put some straw bales down so children could stand on them and get a good view because they are adorable. I just can't believe how well the day actually went.
"We had more than 1,000 people come through the gates and to raise around £700 for little Evie is just incredible."
