Shifnal home burgled as family sleep

Burglars stole gadgets worth more than £1,000 from a home in Shifnal in the early hours of today as a family slept.

Thieves gained entry to the house at The Hem between 1am and 1.25am.

They entered the house by removing a window pane and climbing through.

The intruders were disturbed during the break-in but made off with property including tools, a handbag, car keys, mobile phones and an iPhone. An amount of cash was also taken during the burglary.

Police are today appealing for any witnesses.

Pc Philip Nock, the investigating officer, said: "The home is in a rural area but it is possible someone may have seen the offender or offenders in the area at around 1am or 2am this morning.

"I am appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious or has information about those responsible to contact me."
