The man, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at an address in Stuart Way, Market Drayton, at about 8pm yesterday.

Police said today that the man's death does not appear to be suspicious at this stage.

Inspector Andy Smith of West Mercia Police said: "We were in attendance really on behalf of the coroner, who will be investigating the death.

"We are looking into it but at the moment it does not seem to be suspicious or have any third party involvement. But we will keep an open mind."

A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We attended an incident in Stuart Way about 8pm.

"It was a medical case and we had a number of resources on the scene."

He said that the patient was not taken to hospital and added that he believed the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
