Man, 69, robbed of £400 in his Telford home
A pensioner was robbed by thugs who burst into his Telford home late at night and pulled the phone cable out of the wall.
The 69-year-old victim was left very shaken by the incident, during which £400 was stolen from a safe.
The robbery happened at an address in Sandbrook, Ketley.
The victim was sitting on his sofa watching television when three or four men burst in through his back door.
Having pulled his phone connection out, two of the men restrained the victim on the sofa while the other men went through his wallet and searched his living room.
Having only found £40 in the victim's wallet, the men demanded to know where his safe was.
The victim opened the safe and the men stole more than £400 before fleeing the scene at around 11.30pm on Tuesday.
West Mercia Police spokesman Chris Ammonds said: "The victim has been left very shaken by this incident but thankfully he did not suffer any physical injuries.
"As all the men had hoods up and their faces covered the victim has not been able to give detailed descriptions. However, he believes one of the men was black and very tall."
