Changes made to Sainsbury's plan for Market Drayton store
Plans for a new supermarket in Shropshire have taken a major step forward after a planning application was submitted.
Bosses at Sainsbury's have applied to Shropshire Council planners to build a 30,200 sq ft superstore in Market Drayton which would create 200 new jobs.
But there have been changes to the original plans following public consultation.
The store would be built at the Vicon Works industrial units off the A53, by the Gingerbread Man roundabout.
All current traders would move to the Ollerton Business Park off the A41 in a move that would create a further 27 jobs.
But since the original proposals were unveiled the height of the building has been reduced, the road layout for the entrance to the store has been altered and new pedestrian routes and bus stops have been added.
