Owners of the boarded-up Corbet Arms hotel in Market Drayton's High Street have revealed they want to move the post office there from its home in Queen Street.

They also said they will push ahead with £800,000 plans to revamp the hotel, with a restaurant and leisure complex. Owner Maroof Shah said a planning application was imminent.

A Post Office spokeswoman said: "As part of a £1.34 billion investment in its network the Post Office is introducing new style branches which will help improve their profitability and benefit customers."
