The Brompton Cookery School and B&B, on the Attingham Park Estate, at Atcham, on the outskirts of Shrewsbury, is on the market for around £25,000.

In recent years, it has been run by Philippa Home, who won grants to transform outbuildings at Brompton so that she could launch the facility. It has proved a hit with people from across the region who have paid up to £145 for one-day cookery courses from a number of star chefs.

Among those who have regularly featured are Shropshire's celebrity chef Marcus Bean, from the New Inn at Baschurch, a number of Michelin-starred cooks who have come to the area and Shrewsbury dinner party doyen Jane Bennett, who starred on an ITV programme with Michael Winner called Dining Stars. Mark Agnew, who manages the National Trust's property portfolio in north Shropshire, said Brompton Farmhouse was likely to attract interest from around the country.

He said: "The property is well known in Shropshire and beyond as a successful cookery school and B&B.

"It was extensively modernised just three years ago and there is the opportunity to purchase the outgoing tenant's business.

"I would not be at all surprised if a great deal of interest was shown in the property from as far as London."

Victoria Lawder, who is handling the letting for agent Carter Jonas, said: "It is a beautiful property in excellent condition and it is in a lovely and convenient part of Shropshire. The views over to the Stretton Hills are wonderful and it is only a few minutes' drive to Shrewsbury."
