Billy Gibbons, 53, will feature three of his prized possessions on 'Strippers: Cars for Cash'.

The moment of fame came about purely by chance when Mr Gibbons went to pick up some parts for one of his cars.

"I saw an advert for a company that were stripping cars and I needed two seats for my black Hot Rod," he said.

"I went to Dartford to collect them and there were TV cameras there.

"They saw what I was buying and then rang me a few weeks later to do a follow up on the chairs – I told them I had thought about putting them in my rocket car instead and I also own a 1959 Vauxhall Cresta. So they did another follow up."

Mr Gibbons, from Audlem, near Market Drayton, said he had always been interested in cars once he discovered 'you could get ones different to the normal'.

He has owned his 1950s Hot Rod Deuce Coupe for 20 years but has sold it and bought it back three times during that time.

"I'm very excited about it, I will get a kick out of seeing the Hot Rod on TV," he added.

Mr Gibbons will feature twice on the show, which is due to be aired on the National Geographic channel in the coming weeks.
