A swimmer from Newport has spoken of her pride after carrying the Olympic Torch in front of thousands of people today.
Charlotte Humphreys, 20, carried the flame through Morley, near Leeds, this morning as the Olympic tour continued in West Yorkshire.
She said it was a moment she would cherish forever.
"It was brilliant," she said. "At the start I was really nervous but when I got going I really enjoyed it.
"It was a really good turnout with a lot of people crowding the streets.
"People were chanting my name as I went past and people were asking for high-fives and things.
"It is something which will always stay in the memory I'm sure."
All torchbearers get to keep the white uniform and have the option of purchasing the torch as a keepsake.
Miss Humphreys added: "I think I'll put the white shirt in a frame and there's a stand for the torch so that will go nicely on the coffee table."
Miss Humphreys, a former Newport Junior School pupil, was chosen after being nominated by her boyfriend for her swimming achievements.
She is currently studying physiotherapy at the University of East Anglia, juggling the demands of her coursework with a tough training schedule that she hopes will take her to the Olympics as a competitor in 2016.
She is currently ranked ninth in England for 50m butterfly.
