A public inquiry into controversial plans for a supermarket on an industrial estate in Newport started today.

Applicant David Tringham, working in conjunction with Indigio Planning, wants to build the supermarket on the Audley Avenue Industrial Estate.

But Telford & Wrekin Council planners turned down the plans.

The hearing, which is taking place at the Gray's Hotel in Telford, is expected to last eight days.
