A man who died when his motorbike collided with a van in Shropshire has been named as Neil Mallin.

A man who died when his motorbike collided with a van in Shropshire has been named as Neil Mallin.

The 32-year-old from Cheswardine, near Market Drayton, died at the scene on the A41 on Tuesday evening. An inquest is expected to open next week.

Mr Mallin's family said the former Cheswardine Primary School and The Grove School pupil had lived in the village all his life.

Tributes have been posted online describing him as an 'amazing person' and flowers have been left at the scene of the crash, outside Newcott Fish and Chips in Tern Hill.

Commenting on the Drayton Crier Facebook page James Brisbourne wrote: "Another one of my good friends from school gone. RIP Mal you made the lessons fun."

Mr Mallin died when his Suzuki GSXR 1000 motorbike collided with a silver Mercedes Sprinter van just before 7.45pm.

Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses.
