More than 150 people have signed a petition calling for the tenants of a village's only pub to be allowed to stay after the owners put it on the market for £325,000.

Villagers in Tilstock, near Whitchurch, have launched a petition and a letter-writing campaign in support of tenants Ian and Diane Coldrick, who want to stay at The Horseshoe Inn despite it being put up for sale by Admiral Taverns.

It is being marketed as either continued use or for redevelopment.

Mr Coldrick said he had asked Shropshire Council if they would allow the pub to be transformed into housing, and officials had indicated they would not.
