New chapter for ramblers as walking guides produced

Husband and wife Ron and Rachel Bond are proving a perfect double act when it comes to publishing books.
While Ron has written his Walks in North Shropshire and the Borders book, Rachel has produced sketches to illustrate it.
The couple hope the book will help in Oswestry's bid to become a Walkers are Welcome town and will encourage people to come to the area and boost the economy.
Mr Bond said while those new to walking could happily cover the routes, even the most seasoned walker could set themselves a challenge of doing one a day during a week-long walking holiday in Oswestry.
The book is the latest that avid rambler Ron, 78, has been involved in and he says it is complementary to the Oswestry Ramblers recent books and his own Ron's Rambles.
Mr Bond, who lives in Oswestry with his wife, said: "Each harder walk is accompanied by shorter, easier walks over the same territory that are aimed at those who find the harder walks either beyond their present capability or too time consuming to undertake right now."
He said that by publishing walks in the area he was helping to promote Oswestry as a Walkers are Welcome town.
Mr Bond said: "The walks offer enough variety for anyone wanting to spend a week or longer walking in this area.
"I have extended the area covered by these walks so that Llangynog and above the Ceiriog are now included."
The book is available from Booka Bookshop in Oswestry.
