Three homes were targeted by burglars in a street in Whitchurch in less than 24 hours, police revealed today.

Three homes were targeted by burglars in a street in Whitchurch in less than 24 hours, police revealed today.

Police believe the incidents which took place in Alkington Road are linked.

In one incident, a garage door was forced and items stolen.

Thieves then failed to get into a house through an internal door in the garage between 6pm last Thursday and 5am on Friday.

Police are trying to trace the owners of a Magna Aztec mountain bike with blue and red markings, which was left on the driveway.

A shed was broken into between 10.30am and 11am on Friday when nothing was stolen, and an attempt to prise open the garage door at another property between 11pm on Thursday and 8am on Friday.

Constable Joanne Keppel, the investigating officer, has appealed for witnesses and is urging residents to remain vigilant.
