Residents have expressed concerns about the speed of vehicles using the A4169 in the Much Wenlock area.
Now police are targeting the road from the 30mph limit Sheinton Road into the Farley 50mph limit area for action, the area's police officer Constable Stuart Lippitt said.
He added: "During August one motorcyclist was reported for speeding and four others were stopped and verbally warned on the 50mph restriction between Much Wenlock and Farley.
"There is no specific area along the A4169, but we regularly do enforcement near the William Brookes School area which is within the 30mph restriction.
"I am pleased to say that majority of drivers do abide by both speed limits and that it is the minority who do exceed the limits.
"We do speed enforcement as a matter of general policing along this road and we have concentrated a bit more on the A4169 due to it having a new restriction and to remind drivers."
Residents have the backing of Much Wenlock Town Council.
A group of people living in the Farley area lobbied town councillors in their campaign to improve safety.
Last year, the speed limit on the road between Much Wenlock and Buildwas was reduced from the national speed limit of 60mph to 50mph.
But residents have been calling for an even lower limit of 40mph.
Residents claimed not enough was being done to slow down vehicles, some of which they claimed were doing an estimated 80mph to 90mph at weekends.
Sharon Moran had told councillors the road was too dangerous for her two teenage children to walk or cycle to school just over a mile away.
She had said they had tried to get something done about the road since it was upgraded to an A-road about 20 years ago.
