Yobs steal century-old brass door handle

A solid brass door handle believed to be a century old has been stolen from a Newport shop door.

Thieves targeted Clarks shoe shop in High Street last night, removing the handle with screwdrivers.

Bosses at Clarks say the handle was a feature of the shop and branded the theft "unbelievable".

Manager David Page said: "The theft occurred at some time last night, it makes you wonder what the world is coming to."
