A cartoon written by children's author Michael Morpurgo and featuring Olympic mascot Wenlock was today unveiled as preparations for the London 2012 event continue to gather steam.
Part of the new educational cartoon film sees World triple jump champion Phillips Idowu welcomed to Much Wenlock, the Shropshire town which mascot Wenlock has been named after.
He is just one of a number of top athletes to feature in the four-minute cartoon alongside Wenlock and Mandeville, the Paralympic mascot.
The colourful characters also meet diver Tom Daley, cyclist Shanaze Reid, wheelchair rugby player Mandip Sehmi and double Paralympic swimming champion Ellie Simmonds in the film.
In the cartoon, Adventures on a Rainbow, the mascots are on an adventure across Britain trying to encourage youngsters to take up sport.
Much Wenlock was the home of Dr William Penny Brookes who revived the idea of the original Greek Olympics in the 19th century for the "proution of moral, physical and intellectual improvement".
