When Jane Jones was a young girl dreaming of her big white wedding she never imagined she would be standing outside the church in her dress waiting for the bus.

But that is what happened as the blushing bride and her husband Les Jones decided to hire a red London bus as their mode of transport from their wedding.

The couple, who live in Oldbury, near Bridgnorth, tied the knot in Much Wenlock yesterday and walked straight out of the church following the service and on to the big bus.

The famous London vehicle also caught the attention of residents in Bridgnorth after it pulled up at a stop in Low Town to collect guests and made another stop in High Town on its way to the wedding reception at the Albright Hussey Manor Hotel near Shrewsbury.

"We just did it because we liked the idea of it," said Mr Jones, who runs Jones Electrical in West Castle Street, Bridgnorth.

"Parts of the wedding were traditional but other parts were for our enjoyment.

"When I asked Jane to get married we went around a lot of wedding fairs and we just thought it looked like the most fantastic thing to do."
