Teenage girl 'shot'

A teenage girl was allegedly shot with an air rifle in Whitchurch, police said today.

The victim suffered a puncture wound to her arm as she walked past two youths in Brownlow Street between about 8.35pm and 8.40pm on Saturday.

She was taken to hospital but was not seriously injured.

One teenager was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has been released on police bail.
