Freddie survives another eviction

Shropshire's "Lord of the manor" Freddie Fisher has survived eviction night in the Big Brother house, winning the public vote to stay in the competition for another week.

The 23-year-old, from Market Drayton, was nominated for eviction by nine out of 12 of his fellow housemates, but escaped being booted out of the house last night, with housemate Cairon saying goodbye to contestants instead.

Freddie, who has legally changed his name to Halfwit, has been tipped as favourite to win by bookmakers, despite being nominated for eviction twice.

Presenting highlights from the week's footage on yesterday's 9pm show, Davina McCall referred to Freddie as "Lord of the manor" a "hippy loving bi-guy" and "leader of the free love loony hippy party" as well as an "English gent".

Crowds outside the house in London gave both boos and cheers in response to Freddie's name being mentioned.

Speaking in the diary room before eviction results were announced, Freddie told Big Brother: "The funny thing about being who I am is people don't take me particularly seriously. People think of me as being kind of weird and not part of the hierarchy.

"People do not respond well to weirdness and eccentricity but people do get bored of the same kind of people all the time."

Freddie also compared his entry into the house with the Shropshire unitary elections, saying: "I bet I have personally got more column inches than the election . . ."

Freddie's parents, Ann and Frederick Fisher III watched the eviction show from Scotland, where the couple are holidaying until tomorrow.
