The actor Patrick McGoohan, best know for his cult TV series The Prisoner, died yesterday at the age of 80. He was best known for the Sixties television series, which was shot in North Wales.

The actor Patrick McGoohan, best know for his cult TV series The Prisoner, died yesterday at the age of 80. He was best known for the Sixties television series, which was shot in North Wales.
The series, filmed in the village of Portmeirion, spawned a number of fan clubs, one of which is based in Shrewsbury.
Mr McGoohan died in Los Angeles after a short illness.
