The movie, based on Ian McEwan's best-selling novel, is already being tipped for Oscars recognition by critics. It opens at cinemas on September 7.

The production team spent nearly six weeks shooting some of the film's key scenes in and around the south Shropshire property - and many of the sets they created both inside the Victorian mansion and in the grounds have been left behind.

Caroline Magnus, from Stokesay Court, said the one-hour "Atonement Tours" would begin on September 16, for groups of 20 people or more. The £12.50 per person cost will also include morning coffee or afternoon tea, and cake and biscuits.

"Groups will be accommodated on Thursdays to Sundays, and on Tuesdays. The house is closed to tours on Mondays and Wednesdays.

"Tours must be prebooked, and group bookings can be arranged up to one week in advance of the visit. Tours can be booked either morning or afternoon, and can be scheduled to start at any time from 10am through to 3.30pm."
