Regarding the letter from Pat Davies on March 5.

Have you seen me at work caring for patients? No. So how can you presume to comment on how I do my job on the basis of a letter printed in the Shropshire Star?

I have no problem with anyone passing comment on the substance of what I wrote. The letter was placed in the public domain and was available to be commented on in much the same way as the letter I was responding to was.

However, I feel that there is a world of difference between commenting on the substance of the letter and making personal attacks.

I do care about my patients, their families and the people I work with and I work hard to ensure that everyone gets as much of me as I can spare throughout every day at work.

But when a letter is printed, that tars everyone with the same brush, I feel I have the right to reply - as much as you did to my letter.

I strongly believe that if someone has a problem with the care that is being provided then there are proper channels to deal with this and this does not include anonymous letters to the Shropshire Star making blanket criticism of all nurses.

I also believe that the Shropshire Star has a duty to ensure that the letters they print are fair in their criticisms/comments.
