Superbug 'not out of control'

But a bid has been made for extra Government funding to help combat the bug, Tom Taylor, chief executive of the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust, told its board yesterday. He gave details of the exact MRSA figures. In 1998 MRSA was detected in 612 patients at the Royal Shrewsbury hospital and Telford's Princess Royal hospital, he said. Last year the figure was 614.
