Award for voice-over artist Deryn

You may not have seen her but you may well have heard her voice. Deryn Oliver is a voice-over artist from Bayston Hill, near Shrewsbury.

.Voiceover artist Deryn Oliver from Shrewsbury, has won voiceover actor of the year in the Livewire corporate awards..

Her two-year-old business has earned her a Corporate Livewire Award for 2020.

Deryn has voiced over all sorts of projects from gaming and animation to corporate training videos and has narrated numerous audio books.

Her business sprang up in 2018 after she took part in a TV game show. She said: “I won the Bradley Walsh game show Cash Trapped and, during filming the sound of my voice was commented on and it was suggested that I would make a great voice-over artist.

"I took that advice and used some of my winnings in the show to invest in home studio training and audio equipment.

“I was already running a beauty therapy business and had done so for 20 years – so, for the first year, I ran them side by side.

"However, as the voice-over business grew I decided to give up the waxing and went full time in 2019 after finding a beauty therapist just setting up in business to provide the treatment for my clients.”

The Corporate Livewire prestige award recognises small and medium businesses that have proven to be the best in their region over the past 12 months.
