Singer Fergie says it was difficult keeping her split from husband Josh Duhamel a secret.
Former Black Eyed Peas star Fergie, 42, and Transformers actor Duhamel, 45, announced in September that they had separated, after eight years of marriage, earlier in the year.
The singer, who has a new album out, told a podcast with The Sun: “I couldn’t tell everybody, ‘Oh hey, guess what, the album’s taking so long because I’m going through some stuff’.
“Some days are better than others.”
“It was a conversation about, ‘OK, do we start our next baby or start a new album?’
“I knew I didn’t want to do them at the same time. It’s too much, you know? A child is something you have to focus on …
“Josh was actually the one who said, ‘You know what, you should go back into the studio and make some music’. I remember crying a lot of times going into the studio because it was so hard to leave my kid.”
