Newtown Food Festival set to return

A popular food festival will take place again in Mid Wales this September, it has been confirmed.

Newtown Town Council has confirmed Newtown Food Festival will be held for the fifth successive year on September 2 and 3 in the Town Hall Grounds.

This year's festival will include a new 28ft festival theatre kitchen.

A spokesman for the even said: "The biggest free food festival in Mid Wales returns bigger and better with the best fresh regional produce from over 50 Welsh food and drink producers, offering a taste for all ages.

"The all new 28ft festival theatre kitchen will play host to demonstrations, workshops and tasting events from local chef’s and experts, displayed on 40inch displays and streamed live to Facebook, a huge step up for the festival with this bit of kit will be sure to pull the crowds in.

"Music from the local area is a perfect partner to the food festival, the large stage that plays host to some of the best talent in Mid Wales. A live music event and bar will be on the Saturday evening.

He added: "Entertainment from the children's village will keep your little ones happy all weekend, with a return for the Mad Hatter, inviting everyone to his tea party."
