Fordhall Farm, near Market Drayton, held a carolling event on Sunday, with mulled wine, mince pies and festive activities for visitors.

The event also included the opportunity to visit Father Christmas in his Green Grotto.

And organisers said it was a "great success".

Becca Cartwright, event organiser, said:

"The event was busier than ever. It was lovely to spend the day with so many members of the community and to see the excitement on children's faces as they went in through the tunnel and into Father Christmas' living room.

"We were even lucky with the weather; it didn't rain during the event at all.

"We didn't have a professional choir or musicians, but everyone singing together sounded really magical.

"It was a great day and everyone had fun. There was a lovely festive atmosphere."

Father Christmas' Green Grotto was open from 11am and 80 children and their families visited throughout the day.

Children got to spend that all important time with Father Christmas and receive an eco-friendly gift as well as a 'certificate of goodness'.

The singing took place from 4pm with everyone gathering around open fires, whilst volunteers roasted chestnuts that were shared amongst the crowd.

During the event, children could go on a snowman hunt around the farm yard, searching for parts of a snowman hidden in strange places and winning a prize if they found them all.

Arthur's Farm Kitchen was also serving mulled wine, mince pies and turkey baps, whilst the Fordhall Farm Shop was open selling lots of Christmas gifts, trees and food.
